The Department of Development Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences has its teaching and research focus on the transdisciplinary analysis and critique of global inequalities. It is concerned with theories of and approaches to social, political, economic and cultural developments in an international perspective.

Candidates should have an established track record in research and teaching in the field of development research from a cultural theory and/or social sciences' perspective. The position requires experience with and work on spatial dimensions of development studies (e.g. critical approach to spatial concepts; regional disparities; development geography; critical geography; border studies). The position requires teaching (8 weekly hours/term) at all curricular levels (Master, PhD) as well as participating in the department's interdisciplinary research programme. Candidates should have an established track record in research and teaching in the field of development research from a cultural theory and/or social sciences' perspective.
