Are you excited about the possibilities machine learning and artificial intelligence can bring to science? Have you been driving your field of science towards new directions using machine learning algorithms?
Join us as *Independent Research Group Leader* (m/w/d; E14 TV-L, 100%)
The Cluster of Excellence ""Machine Learning - New Perspectives for Science"" at the University of Tübingen offers several positions to be filled as soon as possible.
We are looking for aspiring scientists working on machine learning in
* infection or cancer research
* social science
* natural language processing
But if you do something exciting not covered by this list - we definitely want to see your application as well!!
The group leader positions are especially suited for talented, promising researchers with some research experience after the PhD. They are fixed-term (until 31.12.2025), with a salary according to the German public sector (E 14 TV-L). Group leaders receive funding for two PhD students as well as start-up and running costs.
The groups are embedded into lively and interactive environment of the Cluster of Excellence “Machine Learning – New Perspectives for Science” at the University of Tübingen (www.ml-in-science.uni-tuebingen.de), the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and the Leibniz Institut für Wissensmedien. Together, we would like to find out how machine learning can change science and drive those changes forward.
Together with the usual documents (cover letter, curriculum vitae, copies of certificates, list of publications) please send your 1 page pitch on how ML will change your scientific discipline (as a single PDF; not exceeding 5 MB) to the Central Office of the Cluster of Excellence (email@example.com) by April 30, 2020. Questions can also be directed to the Central Office.
The University aims to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching and therefore urges suitably qualified women scientists to apply. Qualified international researchers are expressly invited to apply. Disabled persons with equal aptitude will be given preferential consideration.
