In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, social distancing and various safety measures must still be followed in Latvia. The Government of Latvia has published guidelines explaining the latest COVID-19 control measures.

The European Commission is coordinating a common European response to the outbreak of COVID-19. A dedicated website has been launched including information on the latest developments and actions, general advice, useful contacts and links, statistics and various other topics of interest for European citizens and institutions, which will be regularly updated, given the unprecedented situation Europe has been experiencing due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The European Union and its partners are hosting and international pledging marathon running until the end of May 2020. The Commission registered €7.4 billion in pledges from donors worldwide during the Coronavirus Global Response pledging event. This includes a pledge of €1.4 billion by the Commisison, to ensure the collaborative development and universal deployment of diagnostics, treatments and vaccines against coronavirus.
