In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, social distancing and various safety measures must still be followed in Latvia. The Government of Latvia has published guidelines explaining the latest COVID-19 control measures.

Useful information for persons in mobility can be found on the webpage of the Ministry of Foreign affairs of the Republic of Latvia as well as on the webpage of the Ministry of Health.

For researchers currently in Latvia: visit the webpage of The Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC) of Latvia for the latest information on the situation regarding the spread of COVID-19 in Latvia.


The European Commission is coordinating a common European response to the outbreak of COVID-19. A dedicated website has been launched including information on the latest developmentsand actions, general advice, useful contacts and links, statistics and various other topics of interest for European citizens and institutions, which will be regularly updated, given the unprecedented situation Europe has been experiencing due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
