Description: the person employed in this position will carry out tasks related, among others, to: modelling of railway vehicle movement dynamics, the analysis of accelaration measurement signals in railway vehicle elements, modelling of high frequency phenomena connected to noise generated by means of transport.

The candidate is required to have experience related to the following areas: tests of non-linear models of compressed lateral and vertical dynamics with non-linearity relating to wheel/rail contact and characteristics of spring-damping fittings – elements of spring systems, tests of non-linear models with respect to non-inertia of coordinate system describing the equation of motion, tests of rail vehicles dynamics on the track special sections (turnout, regular curve, track transition curve) taking into account the track vulnerability. Moreover, the candidate is required to have the knowledge of numerical methods used in computer modeling of rail vehicle dynamics (including methods of integration of equations of motion specific for rail vehicle computer modeling and methods of construction calculations using finite element method (FEM)) as well as experience in computer modelling application in railway vehicle diagnostics and track diagnostics.

Furthermore the candidate is required to have a PhD degree in technical sciences and a Doctor of Science (doktor habilitowany) degree in Construction and Operation of Machines, speciality in Rail Vehicle Dynamics, as well as documented scientific achievements, i.e. publications relating to rail vehicle dynamics published in international indexed databases like Web of Science, Scopus (over 100 publications).

Documented participation and management in research projects in the field of rail transport is also required.

Skills/Qualifications

  1. PhD degree in technical sciences;
  2. Doctor of Science (doktor habilitowany) degree in Construction and Operation of Machines, speciality in Rail Vehicle Dynamics;
  3. knowledge of mathematical modelling of rail vehicle dynamics, including problems concerning:
    1. tests of non-linear models of compressed lateral and vertical dynamics with non-linearity relating to wheel/rail contact and characteristics of spring-damping fittings – elements of spring systems,
    2. tests of non-linear models with respect to non-inertia of coordinate system describing the equation of motion,
    3. tests of rail vehicles dynamics on the track special sections (turnout, regular curve, track transition curve) taking into account the track vulnerability;
  4. the knowledge of numerical methods used in computer modeling of rail vehicle dynamics, including:
    1. methods of integration of equations of motion specific for rail vehicle computer modeling,
    2. methods of construction calculations using finite element method (FEM);

Specific Requirements

  1. experience in computer modelling application in railway vehicle diagnostics and track diagnostics;
  2. experience in the analysis of accelaration measurement signals in railway vehicle elements;
  3. experience in modelling of high frequency phenomena connected to noise generated by means of transport;
  4. documented scientific achievements, i.e. publications relating to rail vehicle dynamics published in international indexed databases like Web of Science, Scopus (over 100 publications);
  5. documented participation and management in research projects in the field of rail transport financed from the funds of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Centre for Research and Development, National Science Centre, the EU.
